Let Them Eat Cake

The critics slated it, most of the audience hated it and therefore the ratings were rubbish. Even the huge combined talent of French and Saunders and Steadman couldn't save it.

00 The hysterical laughter of the studio audience was too loud and becomes rather irritating. Though I must confess, I was part of the audience in two of the recordings and it did seem funnier in real life. Unless of course my starry eyes blurred my comedy vision! (As my parents would insist happens when it comes to anything starring Dawn.)

Personally I think that there wasn't enough depth to the characters. I couldn't write more than a sentence about each of them really, yet could easily churn out an entire essay on our fav. vicar Geraldine (not that I'm biased of course).

I read somewhere this being referred to as 'let them eat cak' and I must admit that I did laugh. More than I did watching this, anyway.

Much more fun was had at the studio recording, however (diary).
